2005 9th Annual International Car of the Year Awards Rev Up in Detroit

Who: ROAD & TRAVEL Magazine presents the 2005 9th Annual International Car of the Year Awards

What:

* The 9th Annual International Car of the Year Awards (ICOTY) will recognize the Top 10 vehicles for 2005 including: Car of the Year, Truck of the Year, Most Sex Appeal (sports car), Most Athletic (pickup truck), Most Resourceful (SUV), Most Respected (luxury), Most Compatible (minivan), Most Dependable (sedan) Most Spirited (entry level) and Most Versatile (crossover).

* The second annual Lifetime Achievement Award will honor veteran automotive journalist Jerry Flint who has spent over 30 years covering the auto industry, most recently as automotive editor and columnist for Forbes magazine.

* The first annual HEART STRING Award will be awarded to the automaker and agency with the most emotionally compelling car commercial that ran on national TV in 2004. The three finalists are: Soap from Chevrolet/Campbell Ewald; Steve McQueen's Mustang from Ford/J. Walter Thompson; and Saturday from Hyundai/The Richard Group.

  CBS Detroit Air Dates:

           *  Saturday, January 15th from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
           *  Sunday, January 16th from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
