Motorola Introduces Its BLNC Bluetooth(R) Car Kit Portfolio

In the Car or Out in the World, Consumers Have Access to an Array of Hands- Free and Wire-Free Communication Experiences

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 -- Motorola, Inc. is showcasing its complete BLNC Bluetooth(R) Car Kit Portfolio during the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held in Las Vegas, Jan. 6-9. The portfolio includes three aftermarket products providing consumers with a range of features and price points to choose from to make in- vehicle communication more convenient. All three products are expected to be available in North America during the first quarter of 2005 via http://www.hellomoto.com/ .

During CES, Motorola is demonstrating how its aftermarket Bluetooth car kits automatically connect securely to a driver's Bluetooth enabled phone to provide hands-free and wire-free communications inside the car.

Attendees will be able to interact with the Motorola BLNC Bluetooth Car Kit IHF1000 within a General Motors Cadillac XLR in Motorola's booth. This easy to use premium, professionally installed aftermarket car kit is voice operated and supports four languages, making it simple to add and remove Bluetooth enabled phones.

A haute couture, backlit controller is mounted to the dashboard to provide an intuitive user experience without the need for an additional display. At the touch of a button, Motorola's BLNC Bluetooth Car Kit IHF1000 will mute the audio system inside the vehicle* and "listen" to the driver say the number or name they wish to call, or access speaker-independent voice tags stored in the vehicle as well as the speaker-dependent voice tags stored on their mobile phone. The system also will announce incoming calls, voicemail, SMS and low battery indicators to the driver.

The Motorola BLNC Bluetooth Car Kit IHF1000 is engineered to include a number of the same components and features found in the embedded line-fit Bluetooth communication systems the company has designed for its automotive customers. Some of these features include Motorola's enhanced sound quality and road noise reduction technologies so calls are heard loud and clear by both parties. Motorola Labs, the applied research arm of the company focusing on leading edge technologies for future products and product enhancements, also contributed to the development of the product.

Motorola will debut its BLNC Bluetooth Car Kit HF850, a deluxe, professionally installed aftermarket car kit at CES. The product includes a similar haute couture, backlit controller that will be mounted to the dashboard to provide seamless interaction without the need for an additional display. At the touch of a button, Motorola's BLNC Bluetooth Car Kit HF850 will mute the audio system inside the vehicle* and access speaker-dependent voice tags stored in a mobile phone. Motorola has also outfitted the car kit with sophisticated duplex, echo and noise reduction technology that provides clear call quality and lower interference.

Motorola also is introducing its BLNC Bluetooth Car Kit HF820, an enhanced version of Motorola's popular HF800. This completely portable product requires no installation and can be carried in to, and out of, any car you drive. The product uses Bluetooth wireless technology to communicate with any compatible mobile device to provide crisp, clear sound quality through a one- watt speaker that incorporates sophisticated duplex, echo and noise reduction technology.

"This portfolio of in-vehicle Bluetooth solutions enhances Motorola's existing leadership position in the Bluetooth marketplace by providing hands- free solutions across a range of price levels," said Tim Callard, vice president of aftermarket products for Motorola Automotive. "By coupling Motorola's portfolio of in-vehicle solutions with a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and headset, consumers will have the ability to continue their hands- free, wire-free communication once they exit their vehicle to go about their day."

These new aftermarket in-vehicle car kits complement Motorola's complete portfolio of Bluetooth solutions that make life simpler, smarter and more enjoyable for consumers. Consumers can seamlessly connect any of Motorola's aftermarket car kits with:
