Mitsubishi Galant Grunder Unveiled

China Motor Corp., Taiwanese partner of Mitsubishi unveiled its new Galant Grunder sedan earlier this week.

Galant Grunder is based on the new Galant but its styling has been tweaked by Olivier Boulay, Mitsubishi's former designer chief to suit local market taste. It is equipped a 2.4-liter MIVEC petrol engine, capable of 162 bhp. 95 per cent of its 218 Nm of torque is available from 2500 rpm.

Gerhard Steinle, former head of Mercedes' North American Design Centre was responsible for interior modifications. Nappa leather seats, chrome and wood inserts enhance the luxury ambiance of the cabin.

Convenience features include DVD player, 17" alloys.

It has been give five star rating by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
