Delphi Marks First-Ever HVAC Application on Toyota-Badged Vehicle

Electrical Systems, Engine Cooling Support also Given to Launch of Redesigned Tacoma Pickup Truck

TROY, Mich., Nov. 16 -- Delphi Corp. continues to extend its climate control and electrical expertise across a diverse customer base, reaching a milestone with Toyota marked by the launch of the 2005 Tacoma pickup truck.

Delphi's Thermal & Interior division developed and is supplying the complete heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system on the new Tacoma, which has undergone a total redesign. Already enjoying a long- standing history of supplying engine cooling components to Toyota, this is the first Delphi-produced HVAC systems featured on a Toyota-branded vehicle.

"This is a great achievement for our team, and we are excited about supporting Toyota in the launch of such an important vehicle in its lineup. Toyota demands the very best of its suppliers and it is a customer with which we are eager to grow," said Ronald M. Pirtle, president, Delphi Thermal & Interior and vice president, Delphi Corp. "Delphi is committed to exceeding Toyota's expectations by delivering exemplary levels of quality, cost, technology and service."

Delphi will be meeting those expectations with an HVAC system that features the North American debut of the division's SP-15 air conditioning compressor, a fixed-displacement unit with the highest levels of durability. The complete SP product line has received design and process enhancements making it a world-class compressor for the Tacoma and other applications.

Delphi also supplies the full array of related HVAC hoses, fittings and components, including, but not limited to, a Compact Tube and Center Condenser that integrates the receiver dehydrator, maximizing the packaging advantages of what is already a highly flexible heat exchanger.

Delphi is also supplying the radiators for the new Tacoma as it did on the previous generation truck, strengthening its engine cooling relationship with Toyota. In addition, the truck will roll off Toyota's Fremont, Calif., and Baja California assembly lines with full vehicle electrical wiring content supplied by Delphi's Packard Electric division. Delphi also supplies the wiring needs of the current Tacoma pickup.

"We are very encouraged to be once again given the opportunity to demonstrate Delphi's full-systems capability and contribute to Toyota's ability to bring differentiating products to the marketplace," said James A. Spencer, president, Delphi Packard Electric and vice president, Delphi Corp.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America recently recognized Delphi divisions with two Superior Awards for Quality, one Superior Award for Delivery and one Excellent Award for Value Improvement.
