ZAP Appoints William L. Mitchell as VP of Latin American Operations

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Nov. 15, 2004 -- Advanced automotive technology pioneer ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) announced today that it has named Mr. William L. Mitchell as Vice President of ZAP Latin America to increase the Company's presence in the growing market for energy-efficient vehicles in South America.

ZAP established Latin American operations in 2003 via the acquisition of a sales and rental business for ZAP's electric bicycles and scooters in Montevideo, Uruguay. As ZAP's line has grown to include motorcycles and automobiles, the number of business opportunities is increasing. Mitchell says that with gasoline now the equivalent of $5 and $6 per gallon in these regions there is an emerging business opportunity for fuel-efficient vehicles utilizing ZAP's advanced automotive technologies, including electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell propulsion technologies. Mitchell says he intends to pursue opportunities for ZAP to gain exposure in the largest urban centers of South America where he and his business colleagues have numerous business relations, including Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

Mitchell brings more than 30 years experience in international business management, aviation, travel and tourism to ZAP Latin America. Over the course of his career he has traveled throughout the world, including many parts of Asia and South America. He intends to utilize his lifetime of experience and business contacts in developing the market for ZAP vehicles in Latin American countries.

Mitchell has a long and varied professional career through his time with the U.S. Air Force, Fortune 500 companies and the aviation industry. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy and obtained a Masters Degree in Management from the State University of New York.
