Lumileds Lighting and Philips Announce New Partnership

SAN JOSE, Calif. & AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands--Nov. 3, 2004--Lumileds Lighting and Royal Philips Electronics today announced a partnership to develop and market new modular LED lighting solutions for the automotive industry. The new lighting solutions will incorporate Luxeon(R) technology from Lumileds, the world's leading provider of solid-state technology, and design, development and integration expertise from Philips Automotive Lighting, the world's leading provider of automotive lighting solutions.

The new innovative lighting modules will significantly simplify LED lighting design and accelerate the adoption of solid-state lighting solutions by automotive manufacturers.
