Faurecia to Celebrate Just-In-Time Facility Opening in Auburn Hills

Plant to produce complete seating for Pontiac G6

What: Faurecia, Europe's second-largest automotive supplier, is celebrating the opening of its new Just-In-Time Facility in Auburn Hills on Tuesday, October 12 at 9:15 a.m. Serving the nearby General Motors Lake Orion assembly plant, the facility produces complete seats for the all-new Pontiac G6, extending the company's ongoing commitment to Oakland County, Michigan, and the North American marketplace.

Headquartered in France, Faurecia specializes in the design, manufacture, assembly and delivery of automotive seats, cockpits, doors, acoustic packages, front-end modules and exhaust systems. Faurecia North America is a $1.3 billion business with 17 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company employs approximately 5,000 people in North America and operates technical and design centers in Auburn Hills, Michigan (Interior Systems); Troy, Michigan (Automotive Seating); and Toledo, Ohio (Exhaust Systems).

The 100,000 square-foot Auburn Hills plant initiated operations in August. When in full production it will employ 222 hourly and salaried associates. The facility is currently producing 450 complete seats, sets of front and rear seats, each day, which will increase to 495 complete seats beginning next week.
