Crim Festival Of Races Sponsor ACDelco Donates Print To Michigan Special Olympics Chapter

GRAND BLANC, Mich. August 28. 2004; This year marks ACDelco's seventh consecutive year of sponsoring the Crim's 10-Mile Run, one of many events that comprise the Crim Festival of Races, a premier event that runs from August 26 - 28, 2004. ACDelco, a part of General Motors Service and Parts Operations (GMSPO), also has renewed its sponsorship through 2006.

"ACDelco is proud to be a part of the local Crim tradition and support its fund-raising efforts," said GMSPO General Director, Marketing Services Brent Snelson. "Most people think of the Crim in terms of its 1- to 10-Mile walking and running events, but it also includes the 1/4-Mile Lois Craig Invitational that gives Michigan Special Olympics athletes an opportunity to show their talents."

ACDelco has donated a framed print to the Area XIII Special Olympics, one of the six local charities that benefit from the Crim's fund-raising efforts. The print contains two signed photos of NHRA Pro Stock drivers Warren Johnson (GM Performance Parts-sponsored) and Kurt Johnson (ACDelco-sponsored) and NASCAR Winston / Nextel Cup drivers the former Dale Earnhardt, Sr. (GM / Chevrolet-sponsored) and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (GM /Chevrolet-sponsored) and will be raffled off at a future Area XIII Special Olympics event.

ACDelco is lending its support to the event in numerous other ways. On Saturday, August 28, an ACDelco-logoed Pontiac GTO will pace the start of the 10-Mile Run. In addition, an ACDelco product display booth will be positioned at the Character Inn Convention Center over the three-day course of activities. Visitors will receive a coupon for a discounted lube / oil / ACDelco filter change at local ACDelco Independent Service Centers.

Numerous GMSPO / ACDelco employees and their families will run and walk in Crim races. GM is also competing against automotive rivals DaimlerChrysler and Ford in a "Big Three" challenge with the winners determined by using the cross-country scoring method.
