Nissan Foundation Selects 17 Nonprofit Organizations to Share $322,000 in Grant Money; Eleven Grant Recipients Located in Southern California to Receive $235,000

LOS ANGELES--Aug. 2, 20040, 2004--The Nissan Foundation, a nonprofit charitable giving arm of Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA), is awarding a total of $322,000 in grants to 17 nonprofit organizations in Southern California, Northeast Texas, Middle Tennessee and South Central Mississippi. A grantee recognition ceremony honoring the Southern California grant recipients will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 at Nissan's corporate headquarters in Gardena, California.

This year's Southern California grantees are: Art Center College of Design, Autry National Center, Bayside Community Center, Ford Theatre Foundation, Japanese American National Museum, Museum of Tolerance, Pasadena City College, Pierce College, Public Corporation of the Arts, Self-Help Graphics & Art, and The Accelerated School. Additional grant recipients include the International Museum of Cultures (Dallas, Texas), National Cowboys of Color Museum & Hall of Fame (Fort Worth, Texas), Discovery Center (Nashville, Tennessee), Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee, Mississippi School of Mathematics & Science and 100 Black Men of Jackson, Mississippi.
