BP Presents the 15th Annual Upper Manhattan Auto Show On Harlem Day, August 15, 2004

NEW YORK, Aug. 13, 2004 -- BP, one of New York City's leading fuels and convenience marketers, is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 15th Annual Upper Manhattan Auto Show, which takes place on Harlem Day -- Sunday, August 15 -- the culmination of New York's Harlem Week.

BP will present the lead vehicle in the Auto Show Parade, and will feature an exhibition of special vintage, new and collectible vehicles from throughout the region. BP will present 12 special car awards for categories including People's Choice, Oldest Vehicle, Most Unique, Current Model, Special Vehicle, and Longest Distance Traveled.

On that day, BP will also present two "Connecting With Tomorrow's Leaders" scholarships awards. The $1,000 college scholarships will be granted to worthy students from the local area.

A BP Connect Hospitality Tent will be set up on W. 135th Street between 5th Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, where people can get out of the hot sun into a shady, fan-cooled area with an open, comfortable seating area. BP Connect is the company's state-of-the-art convenience retail offer.

BP Connect Hospitality Tent visitors can enjoy a free sample of Wild Bean Cafe food including the NEW chicken low carb wraps, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies, sweet cream cheese and cherry Danish, cinnamon rolls, a variety of filled croissants and bagels. Visitors can also play BP Trivia with a chance to win a $5 BP Gas Card -- and for the first time, a BP "butterfly" chair.

Harlem Week, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is an annual event in New York City. Harlem Week started as a one-day tribute to Harlem's glorious history and diverse community. Now, Harlem Week offers a variety of events throughout the month of August, entertaining guests with live music, urban cuisine, and diverse arts and culture. Harlem Week has a total estimated attendance of over 3.5 million, with many of those attending the Upper Manhattan Auto Show.

The Auto Show Parade begins at 9 a.m. at the great "Duke Ellington" Plaza monument, located at 5th Avenue and 110th Street. From there, the parade will head up 110th Street to 7th Avenue, and then will travel along 7th Avenue until they reach 135th Street between 5th and Malcolm X Boulevard, where the cars will be on display until 5 p.m.
