DaimlerChrysler Plans 230,000 A-class Sales Worldwide 2004-2005

PIRAEUS, Greece, June 28, 2004; Reuters reported that DaimlerChrysler aims to sell a total of 230,000 new A-class compact cars in 2004 and 2005, the company said on Monday during its official unveiling in Greece.

The company expects 50,000 units of the smallest Mercedes brand car to be sold this year, and another 180,000 in 2005 -- it's first full year of production.

Daimler added that it plans to bring out a brand new "compact sports tourer" model based on the revamped A-class that would hit dealerships in 2006.
