Ford/AAA National Student Auto Skills Competition, Tuesday, June 29 in Dearborn

WHAT: Fifty two-person teams of high school students, one from each state in the Union, will try to be the first to diagnose and correct mechanical/electrical bugs deliberately placed on Ford vehicles. Thousands of dollars in scholarship prizes are at stake. There will also be a competition for 18 master automotive technicians who won regional contests around the country. They will compete for cash prizes.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 29, 2004. The contestants will arrive at the competition site between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m. The competition will begin at 9:15 a.m. with the command "Contestants, start your engines if you can."

WHERE: Ford Motor Company field in Dearborn at the corner of the Southfield Freeway service drive and Hubbard Drive opposite AAA Michigan headquarters.
