Delta Air Lines Launches Promotion With Michelin(R)

SkyMiles(R) program members can now earn miles when purchasing a set of tires

ATLANTA, June 17 -- Delta Air Lines today announced a special program with Michelin North America Inc. that allows SkyMiles program members to earn miles when they purchase four Michelin tires. SkyMiles program members may earn 2,500 miles by purchasing a set of four Michelin passenger car or light truck tires at any Michelin retailer in the United States through Nov. 15, 2004.

"Now, travel on the road can help earn miles toward travel in the air," said Christine Pierce, Delta's director of Partnership Marketing. "This partnership with Michelin is the first of its kind for airline loyalty programs. We're continually expanding the many ways our members can earn miles toward Award Travel while purchasing everyday products and services."

To receive the 2,500 bonus miles, SkyMiles program members must complete and mail a brief form (including SkyMiles program number and email address) with the original or a copy of the receipt for a set of four Michelin brand passenger car or light truck tires. The form is included in the May issue of the SkyMiles Insider newsletter and can also be found at michelinman.com/delta. Claims must be postmarked by Dec. 15, 2004. All SkyMiles program rules apply. Delta SkyMiles program members earn miles by flying Delta, Song, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection, Delta AirElite and Delta's worldwide partners, including Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines and the airline's SkyTeam partners. The program offers additional mileage-building opportunities through SkyMiles partners such as the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express, AT&T telecommunication services, EarthLink Internet services, participating hotels, car rental companies, restaurants, floral purchases and financial, mortgage and realty services. Miles may be redeemed for upgrades, Crown Room Club memberships and Award Travel to more than 400 worldwide destinations.
