JagUar Sponsors the 2004 Wine Country Classic Vintage Car Races

SONOMA, Calif., June 3 -- Jaguar North America is proud to announce its title sponsorship of the 18th annual Wine Country Classic Vintage Car Races, taking place June 4 - 6 at Infineon Raceway. The Jaguar Wine Country Classic Vintage Car Races will feature some of the world's finest classic racing machines, as well as Jaguar's latest vehicle line-up which will be available for customer test drives. The Jaguar Wine Country Classic is a stylish event that perfectly fits Jaguar's brand mantra of "Beautiful Fast Cars."

The select group of classic racing automobiles chosen to participate in this year's Classic ranges from the early 1900s to the mid 1980s. More than 350 race and sports cars will compete on the challenging road course in ten race groups. One of the beautiful Jaguar Select Edition Racing E-Types, car #63, will be taking part in the competition. The #63 car, a 450-bhp 1963 E- Type roadster, will be driven by experienced Select Edition race driver, Art Hebert.

"Jaguar North America is thrilled to be the title sponsor of one of the best-known vintage racing events," says C.J. O'Donnell, executive vice president of marketing and sales, Jaguar North America. "The Jaguar Wine Country Classic will feature some of the most legendary cars to ever take to the track in a beautiful wine country setting. It perfectly represents the spirit of Jaguar -- a blend of high-performance and style."

Simultaneously, with the vintage race this weekend, Jaguar will be staging its highly-successful Born to Perform Tour at the track throughout the weekend. The Born to Perform Tour is a VIP test drive program designed for potential Jaguar customers. Guests are invited to spend a day with Jaguar, take in a guided tour of the racing paddock, see the Jaguar Select Edition Racing team in action, and have the chance to get behind the wheel of the entire Jaguar line-up -- either on the track or around challenging autocross courses. The autocross courses are also open to the public for test drive opportunities.
