Oil Company to Give Away $1 Million in Gas Prizes This Summer

Prize Patrol and Sweepstakes Opportunities Give Customers the Chance to Fuel Up and Win

TULSA, Okla., May 27 -- Memorial Day weekend marks the official start to summer and the traditional start to the busiest driving season in the United States. CITGO Petroleum Corporation is giving customers across the country one million reasons to fuel up and hit the road this summer. Between May 28 and July 5, CITGO is giving away $1 million in free gas prizes through its national sales promotion, the CITGO Million Dollar Great Gas Giveaway.

"The CITGO Million Dollar Great Gas Giveaway is an opportunity for us to reach out to our customers at a time when they depend on their cars the most -- summertime," said Marty Sedlacek, CITGO General Manager Marketing. "We'll be giving away over $1 million in gas prizes through on-lot promotions and online sweepstakes. Whether they're taking the kids to soccer practice, summer camp or heading out on a family vacation, we're excited to give our valued customers a chance to fuel up on us this summer."

The CITGO Million Dollar Great Gas Giveaway features two ways to win through prize patrols and sweepstakes components. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, CITGO Great Gas Giveaway Prize Patrols will make unannounced visits to CITGO retail locations through July 5. Prize Patrols will award gas prizes to the first 20 customers who participate in a random drawing conducted on- site during the visit. During each Prize Patrol stop, one customer will win a five-year supply of gas while 19 others will win CITGO Cash Cards ranging in value from $10-$50.

Customers also can win free gas prizes by entering the CITGO Great Gas Giveaway Sweepstakes. To participate, customers must complete an entry form available at their local CITGO location or online at http://www.citgo.com/ . Customers also will be automatically registered to win each time they make a purchase using their CITGO Plus Credit Card.
