Universal Technical Institute Announces New Automotive Training Program in Orlando

PHOENIX, May 5, 2004 -- Universal Technical Institute, Inc. , one of the nation's leading providers of technical education training, today announced that it has entered into a long-term lease agreement to expand the program offerings at its Orlando, Florida, campus to include automotive training. Through its Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI), the Orlando campus currently offers motorcycle and marine training curriculum.

UTI will begin offering the automotive program in a newly constructed, 60,000 square foot facility near the existing campus location. During the next few years, the Orlando campus will increase total enrollments to approximately 2,400 students. UTI anticipates the new Orlando automotive program will open in the fall of 2004.

The Orlando automotive program expansion will help to address the growing technician needs of UTI's industry customers within that specific region.

"Before this program expansion, students were required to relocate from Florida to obtain training in our automotive curriculum. This expansion will allow us to provide valuable technicians to the dealers and aftermarket that are experiencing a shortage of qualified professionals in this geographic region," said Kimberly McWaters, president and chief executive officer of Universal Technical Institute, Inc.
