Spartan Offers New Low-Profile 4x4 and Presents Roll Stability Test Results on Fire Rescue Vehicles

CHARLOTTE, Mich., April 29 -- Spartan Chassis(TM) is introducing its new Low-Profile 4x4 Advantage chassis and presenting its Roll Stability Control (RSC) test results at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) today in Indianapolis.

"Spartan is focused on developing state-of-the-art safety features on our fire rescue vehicles. We are pleased with the introduction of the new Low- Profile 4x4 Advantage chassis and excited to present our Roll Stability test results," said Richard Schalter, president of Spartan Chassis. "We have made it our mission to build vehicles that protect the professionals who keep us safe and secure."

Spartan understands that high quality emergency response vehicles are the backbone of a community's disaster preparedness. This fact is the main motivation behind Spartan's latest safety innovations. Spartan is partnering with Meritor Wabco to offer Roll Stability Controls (RSC), a device that automatically intervenes to slow the vehicle and prevent rollovers. A Spartan cab equipped with RSC technology received exceptional ratings in recent rollover tests. Video footage is on display at the Spartan Chassis booth throughout the duration of the FDIC (Booth # 2537).

Spartan is also launching a low-profile four-wheel-drive option on their mid-level Advantage chassis. This feature provides all the safety and performance of a 4x4 vehicle. Combined with a lowered center of gravity and exceptional traction control, the Low-Profile 4x4 Advantage chassis provides an easily controlled, highly maneuverable vehicle at a value-driven price. Orders for the Low-Profile 4x4 option on the Spartan Advantage chassis will be taken starting this week.
