Stars of Two Guys Garage Stump for Automotive Maintenance During National Car Care Month

SWANSEA, Mass., April 2 -- April is National Car Care Month and who better to promote good car habits than the co-hosts of the Two Guys Garage TV show, Dave Bowman and Sam Memmolo. The Two Guys Garage show airs on the SPEED Channel and has a history of promoting car care awareness year round.

While presently known for their on-camera demonstrations of vehicle upgrades, the co-hosts regularly cite the benefits of taking care of what you already own. "Having cut our teeth on basic preventive maintenance, Sam and I can cite plenty of examples of how conscientious car care paid off in terms of extended vehicle life and dependable performance," said Bowman.

"In National Car Care Month check lanes last year, 38% of vehicles had low or dirty engine oil, which can be a major factor in shortening engine life," emphasized Bowman. "Another discovery that can cost motorists big money is low or contaminated transmission fluid, found in 22% of the vehicles checked last year."

Sam Memmolo states, "More than half of vehicles fail the inspection because of underinflated tires, not only a safety factor but one that affects fuel economy and tire wear, as well. Battery terminals and drive belts are among leading deficiencies, putting the owner at risk of being stranded."
