Automotive Logistics Magazine Launches its Third Global Event, Autologistics Asia

LONDON, March 22 -- The automotive industry has recognised China as an opportunity for growth but has to deal with the world's most challenging logistics environment to turn potential into reality.

The challenge is not to transplant existing thinking and business practices to China, but to develop logistics strategies that show an understanding of China's culture and infrastructure, and which are tailored to maximise opportunities in that environment.

Automotive Logistics, the magazine focused on the industry globally, and the organiser of Autologistics events, has to meet the same challenge - and that's why we're extending our expertise and experience to launch Autologistics Asia 2004.

On the 19 and 20 May, the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel, Shanghai, will host the first Autologistics Asia conference and present an exciting and interesting program covering the following topics through case studies, presentations and open panel discussions: Why Asia Pacific?, Asia Pacific logistics, Procurement and supply, Infrastructure, Logistics service providers, Finished vehicles, and Service parts.

Speakers and panelists include:

- Jacky Wang, Manager Material Planning & Logistics, FORD

- Mitch Marecki, Director Procurement & Supply, BEIJING JEEP

- Anton Liu, Director Procurement & Supply, YANFENG VISTEON

- Mika Mostert, Director Materials Management, VISTEON

- Sylvia Hill, Director PC&L Asia, DELPHI

- Jerry Wang, Managing Director, APL LOGISTICS CHINA

- Peter Reinshagen, China Project Manager, GEFCO

- David Brady, President, CATERPILLAR LOGISTICS SERVICES ASIA PACIFIC

Attendees will have the chance to discover the strategic plans of carmakers, suppliers and logistics service providers in the Chinese market; explore the operational realities of local production and infrastructure; learn how leading companies are addressing the challenges presented to domestic and international logistics; and interact with leading Chinese and international executives.

With the special support of the China Supply Chain Council (CSCC), the largest association for supply chain, manufacturing and logistics professionals in China, G-Log as global sponsors and Menlo Worldwide as gold sponsor; Autologistics Asia already promises to be as successful as Autologistics Europe and Autologistics Global.
