February 27, 2004 -- Torrance, Calif. -- For the third consecutive year, Car and Driver magazine has named the Honda Pilot as the best large sport-utility vehicle in its annual "5Best Trucks" competition. More than 35 vehicles in five separate categories were nominated for the 2004 award. The selected vehicles were evaluated on handling, style, value, seating areas, cargo space and power. In the March 2004 issue, Car and Driver editors remark that the Pilot is "very good at everything, with the added attraction of outstanding quality and a high value quotient." In their summary, the magazine's evaluators characterize Pilot's performance, value and features as "an unbeatable combination."

The Pilot features a 240-horsepower, 3.5-liter VTEC V-6 engine and Honda's innovative VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management 4WD) four-wheel drive system for improved traction in all conditions. The interior is the most flexible and versatile in its class, with two rows of 60/40 split folding seats and up to 90.3 cubic feet of car space behind the front seats.

Since the 5Best awards program began four years ago, Honda and Acura trucks have won nine of a possible twenty awards.
