Derways Cowboy Pours Out Of Vodka Factory

Mercury-2, a vodka producer from the Russian Republic of Karachayevo-Cherkessiya set up the Derways Automobile Company in 2003 and production of the sturdy Cowboy commenced recently.

Chassis and gearbox is sourced from troubled Romanian off-road maker, Aro, most other components are sourced from Russia.

The 3131 Cowboy is 4,4 meter long, 1.8 meter wide and about 1.9 meter tall.

There are three engine options: ZMZ 409.10 (2.3 liter 105 bhp petrol), ZMZ 5143.10 (2.2 liter, 72 bhp diesel) and a Euro-3 compatible 2.0 liter Peugeot turbodiesel unit.

The company plants to produce 5000 units this year, and increase production to 25000 units gradually.
