Dealernews Names `Top 100' Powersports Retailers in North America; Dealerships Honored for Store Design, Merchandising Techniques

INDIANAPOLIS--Feb. 14, 2004--Dealernews, the premier business-to-business magazine for powersports retailers, announces the winners of the Top 100 Awards, the industry's largest, longest running and most prestigious store design and marketing awards program.

The Top 100 competition, now starting its 14th year, recognizes dealerships across North America for retail design and merchandising approaches.

"With a record number of quality entries this year, it was the toughest competition ever," says Mike Vaughan, publisher of Dealernews. "These motorcycle and powersports dealers have raised the bar when it comes to unique store designs, retail displays and customer service."

MidAmerica Motoplex, a two-year-old, multi-line dealer in Sioux Falls, S.D., took this year's top honors as the 2004 Grand Prize Winner. Other winning dealerships include Uke's Harley-Davidson/Buell, Kenosha, Wis.; Speed City Cycle, Indianapolis, Ind.; J&P Cycles, Anamosa, Iowa; and Hully Gully The Ultimate Toy Store, London, Ontario, Canada. A complete list of this year's winners will be available at www.dealernews.com.

The 2004 Top 100 retailers were honored during an awards dinner Feb. 13 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. The Top 100 winning entries will be showcased in a three-day photo gallery exhibit during the 36th Annual Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo, held Feb. 14, 2004-16 at the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome. This year's winners also will be commemorated in a special Top 100 Yearbook to be published in July by Dealernews.
