Subaru Named Official Vehicle in Partnership With National Gardening Association

-- Company to Sponsor Subaru Get Gardening Giveaway as Part of National Garden Month --

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Jan. 21 -- Subaru of America, Inc., the only car company that features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard equipment on every vehicle in its product line, today announced a new partnership with the National Gardening Association (NGA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the benefits of gardening. Under the terms of the partnership, Subaru will be the official vehicle of the National Gardening Association and National Garden Month in April of this year. The company will also sponsor the Subaru Get Gardening Giveaway program.

"Subaru is thrilled to be the official vehicle of the National Gardening Association and National Garden Month this year," said Tim Bennett, Director of Marketing Programs, Subaru of America, Inc. "As two like-minded organizations, we believe in the power of gardening to transform environments, individuals and communities."

According to the NGA, gardening is one of the most popular leisure outdoor activities. More than 85 million American households participate in lawn and garden activities.

As part of National Garden Month, a program designed by NGA to celebrate the "power of gardening," Subaru will sponsor the Get Gardening Giveaway. One hundred winners will each receive a $100 gift certificate to the NGA Garden Shop to buy plants, tools, and supplies for their gardening needs, as well as a free 12-month membership in NGA. The Subaru Get Gardening Giveaway program will be featured on www.nationalgardenmonth.org and www.garden.org, the official site of the National Gardening Association.

"We are very pleased to partner with Subaru to present National Garden Month and to celebrate the many ways that plants and gardens make a difference in the quality of our lives," said Larry Sommers, Vice President, National Gardening Association. "The Subaru sponsorship will enable us to expand our reach and help Americans establish hundreds of new gardens in schoolyards and communities."

Subaru Commitment to the Outdoors

When a Subaru is seen driving down the road or at the trailhead, chances are it will be loaded with a kayak, canoe, mountain bike, skis or snowboard. That's because Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive provides drivers with superior performance in all types of conditions - essential for transporting outdoor sports enthusiasts to the river, the mountains and those "off the beaten path" destinations with safety and confidence. Together with its partners, Subaru hosts hundreds of outdoor events each year from coast to coast. This approach helps Subaru learn more about its customers' interests, and enables the company to demonstrate how Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive can complement their active lifestyles. Because of this commitment, many refer to Subaru as the official vehicle of the outdoors.
