The 2004 Philadelphia International Auto Show is THE Place to Be!

The Area's Largest New Car `Showroom' to Feature More Concept Cars and East Coast Debuts Than Ever Before

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 20 -- The 2004 Philadelphia International Auto Show will cruise into the Pennsylvania Convention Center, January 31- February 8. Produced by the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP), the show will feature more than 700 vehicles from more than 40 participating manufacturers including classic, luxury, new production and exotics.

"The 2004 Auto Show is THE place to be to see the vehicles of your dreams," said Jay Haenn, 2004 Auto Show chairman and president of Lansdale Chrysler Jeep. "With more concept vehicles and East Coast Debuts than ever before, Philadelphians are poised for an outstanding show."

One dollar for every attendee to the Philadelphia International Auto Show has been pledged by the ADAGP to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through the Auto Dealer's CARing for Kids Foundation.

"Our industry is comprised of a group of community based business leaders who are involved in the areas in which we conduct business," said Kevin Mazzucola, executive director of the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. "Last year, thanks to record-breaking attendance at the show, the ADAGP donated $231,609 to The Children's Hospital. The Foundation, formed in late 2003, allows us to build on our community service activities in support of children and surpass the $2.5 million raised over the past decade by the ADAGP for various child- related causes, including The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia."

East Coast Debuts

A record number of vehicles will be making their East Coast Debut! The Philadelphia International Auto Show will witness the unveiling of the Ford Freestyle, Buick Terraza, Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan/SS Coupe, 2005 Corvette, Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Magnum, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Ford GT, Ford Mustang, Ford Five Hundred, Ford Freestyle, Infiniti QX56, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Lexus RX400, Maserati Quattroporte, Pontiac G6, Rolls-Royce Phantom and Saturn Relay.

Concept Vehicles

Concept vehicles, built by manufacturers to reflect the innovative design and styling in the exterior and interior of future vehicles, are always a Philadelphia favorite. The 2004 Auto Show will feature a record number of concept vehicles - another record for the Philadelphia International Auto Show. Concepts that will be on-hand include Buick Centieme, Cadillac Sixteen, Chevrolet Cheyenne, Chevrolet SS Concept Sedan, Chrysler Chronos, Dodge Kahuna, Ford SVT F-150 Lightning, Ford Model U, Jeep ICON, Lincoln Navicross and Mercury Messenger.

Exotic Vehicles

Those interested in seeing some of the most sought-after vehicles in the world will enjoy the largest exotic vehicle display in the country. The display will feature the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Lamborghini Gallardo, Aston Martin Vanquish, Bentley Continental GT and the Aston Martin DB American Roadster 1 which is number 85 of only 99 models made in the world, courtesy of F.C. Kerbeck of Palmyra, NJ. Ferrari and Maserati models, including Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and Maserati Quattroporte are courtesy of Algar of Rosemont, PA. The Porsche Boxster S Special Edition is also expected to appear. This vehicle is built to pay homage to the 550 Spyder which is celebrating its 50-year anniversary. Only 1,953 (to mark the year of the early Spyder) will be made.

Hybrid Vehicles

Hybrid vehicles will be a trendsetter at this year's show. A hybrid vehicle has both a gasoline engine and an electric motor to conserve fuel mileage. Ford will display the hybrid Model U concept vehicle, Lexus will show the pre-production RX400h, Toyota will showcase the Prius hybrid vehicle currently in production and Honda will feature its Insight, America's first hybrid vehicle introduced in 1999.

Promotions

For the first time ever at the show, a manufacturer will be conducting a car giveaway. Mazda will be giving away an RX8 which was featured in the movie X-Men 2. More details will be available at the Mazda exhibit.

Vintage Display

The 2004 Auto Show will feature a vintage display from the Eastern U.S. Concours D'Elegance. The Concours D'Elegance will present a special exhibit with some of the most prestigious cars of our automobile heritage.

  Black Tie Tailgate Preview Charitable Gala

On Friday evening, January 30, from 7-11:30 p.m., the ADAGP will host the Black Tie Tailgate Preview Gala. For just $150 per person, guests can preview the show before it opens to the public and enjoy food, drink and entertainment. Proceeds benefit The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, which contributes funding and resources for worthwhile child-related programs and causes throughout the Philadelphia region. The Foundation is a recognized 501c(3) public charity, allowing contributors to make a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation. Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Day

Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Day will be held on Sunday, February 8, offering all children age 12 and under free admission when accompanied by an adult. A host of popular children's characters will meet and greet the whole family. Free digital finger printing and face painting will also be available. The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids' Room will be open daily and is equipped with fun activities such as miniature pedal cars and video games. The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Day and the Kids Room are sponsored by the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation.

Box office admission, at the show, is $10.00 for adults, $6.00 for children (7-12) and free for children six and under. Senior citizens (62 and over) receive a special admission price of $6.00 on weekdays only.

Discounted Tickets Available through SEPTA and Your New Car and Truck Franchised Dealers

Through a partnership with SEPTA, discounted tickets are available at 75 SEPTA sales offices throughout the Delaware Valley. Discounted ticket prices are $8.00 for adult admission and $6.00 for child/senior admissions - up to a $2 discount on adult tickets compared to same day, box office prices. The discounted tickets can be redeemed for admission into the Auto Show, weekdays, February 2-6. SEPTA and the ADAGP are once again making available a "Turbo Pass" that can be purchased for an additional $8.00, which entitles riders to unlimited, one-day travel on SEPTA buses, trolleys and trains from January 31- February 8. "Turbo Passes" are not valid on SEPTA Regional Rail Trains arriving in Center City Philadelphia prior to 9:30 a.m.
