Plant, TRW Automotive's President and Chief Executive Officer, will be the keynote speaker at the 2003 Air Bag & Seat Belt Technology Conference being held December 10-11, 2003 at the Holiday Inn Fairlane.   Biographies

  John C. Plant, TRW Automotive, President and Chief Executive Officer

Since 2001, Mr. Plant has been TRW Automotive's President and CEO of TRW Automotive. Prior to that, Mr. Plant had been an executive vice president of TRW since the acquisition of Lucas Varity in 1999. He was president and CEO of the TRW Chassis business in 2001 and general manager of TRW's Automotive unit in 1999. Prior to 1999, Mr. Plant was president of Lucas Varity Automotive and managing director of the Electrical and Electronic division from 1991 through 1997. He currently serves on the Board of Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust PLC. Mr. Plant is a graduate of Birmingham University, Bachelor of Commerce, Economics, Accounting and Law and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounting.

Van Bussmann, J.D. Power and Associates, Senior Vice President

Since 2001, Dr. Bussmann has been Senior Vice President of Global Forecasting at J.D. Power and Associates. Dr. Bussmann joined J.D. Power and Associates following a 15-year career at Daimler Chrysler Corporation, the last seven as its corporate economist. He began his career teaching economics at Cornell University. He then progressed through jobs at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Chase Econometrics and TRW, at which he was the chief economist and director of planning. Dr. Bussmann sits on the Board of Allete, the corporate parent of ADESA automotive. He also is a member of a number of professional associations and has served on the board of the National Association for Business Economics. He has chaired the Business Council Technical Consultants, the Conference of Business Economists and the Society of Automotive Analysts. Dr. Bussmann received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and a master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
