Delphi Signs Agreement to Provide Retrofit Back-Up Aid to EchoMaster

EchoMaster to Sell Reverse Sensing Unit Under Their Brand Name

KOKOMO, Ind., Nov. 5 -- Delphi Corporation announced that it has signed an agreement with EchoMaster, LLC to sell its retrofit radar-based Back-Up Aid to EchoMaster, LLC. The product will be made available under the EchoMaster brand through selected EchoMaster expediters at new car dealerships across the U.S. and Canada.

Delphi makes two models of its consumer Back-Up Aid; one model fits into a 2-inch trailer hitch and is removable and the other model permanently mounts to the vehicle. The system is designed for adaptation to cars, trucks, SUVs, recreational vehicles, commercial vehicles, utility trailers and other vehicles. The Delphi Back-Up Aid helps drivers detect objects and people as they are backing up. The Delphi system that will be marketed by EchoMaster delivers one of the longest-range detection zones on the market.

Delphi's Back-Up Aid system uses radar technology to help drivers avoid objects behind their vehicle that might not be visible from the driver's seat. The innovative system is on whenever the ignition is switched on and the vehicle is in reverse gear. The robust radar enables the system to detect objects farther away than most systems. The system can detect objects and people as far away as 16.4 feet. Drivers are alerted with a loud audible warning when a person or object is detected in its path. The warning becomes more frequent as the vehicle gets closer to the obstacle or person.

The system helps detect pets, other vehicles, children and other objects in the rear blind spot when the vehicle is in reverse gear. The system assists drivers in a wide range of environmental conditions including darkness, bright sunlight, rain, fog, and snow. The system continually performs self-checks when the vehicle is in reverse. When a problem is detected, the system alerts the driver with a rapid beep.

Installation of the Back-Up Aid system is quick and simple. The system can be permanently installed on the rear of the vehicle or in a removable configuration using a 2-inch trailer hitch mount. Back-Up Aid features a high-performance, FCC-approved, 17 GHz radar sensor that is a lightweight, rugged design. The system is licensed in the U.S. and Canada.
