ALAMO, Calif. (October 2003) – The Goodguys’ final event for 2003 kicks up its heels and raises more than dust as 2,000 vintage hot rods, street rods, muscle cars, customs and classics through 1972 transform the transportation of choice at West World of Sc

On Saturday and Sunday, November 15 and 16, the “Wild West” atmosphere will be punctuated with the vivid sights and raucous sounds of roddin’ enthusiasts celebrating the final Goodguys’ event of the 2003 season, the K&N Filters/Goodguys 6th Annual Southwes

Legendary customizer Boyd Coddington will be on hand to select his Pro’s Picks from the thousands of vehicles on site and World Driving Champion and Indy 500 winner Mario Andretti will join the festivities for a special autograph session at the Havoline di

“It’s hard to believe the 2003 Goodguys’ season is already coming to a close,” says Gary Meadors, president of Goodguys Rod & Custom Association. “This is the last chance for members to enter and win the 2003 Western States Grand Prize Giveaways so we know
 we’ll see another great turnout.”

The weekend officially opens for registered participants only with a Friday Hot Rod Tour of local hot rod shops, hosted by the Phoenix “Over the Hill Gang” hot rod club, followed by a Kick-Off Party and BBQ from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Arizona Street Rod
s.

Saturday festivities continue with Goodguys’ award selections as Rockin’ DJ Dave spins nostalgic tunes for the crowd as they inspect the hundreds of vendor and manufacturer exhibits, the Swap Meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral, and kids get involved in the “Make-
N-Take” model building at the Model Car display sponsored by Revell on Saturday.

Sunday’s official activities commence at 2:22 p.m. at the Entertainment Stage as more than 75 special awards, including Boyd Coddington’s Sweet 16, and K&N’s Performance Pics are announced, along with the Grand Prize Winners for the 2003 Western State Priz
