Audi Renews as Official Vehicle for Wachovia LPGA Classic

KUTZTOWN, Pa., Aug. 5, 2003 -- Audi of America is proud to announce that it will be the official vehicle of the Wachovia LPGA Classic Hosted by Betsy King. Audi has supported this full-field LPGA sanctioned event for the past six years. The 72-hole tournament will take place August 18-24, 2003, at the Berkleigh Country Club in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

The tournament features 144 golfers including defending champion Se Ri Pak, Meg Mallon, Beth Daniel and Betsy King. Suzy Whaley is the tournament's sponsor exemption. The athletes will compete for a $1.2 million purse, and The Golf Channel will offer live TV coverage Thursday through Sunday, 2:00-5:00 p.m. EDT.

Two exciting additions to this year's event include the Wachovia Shootout on Tuesday, August 19 featuring past tournament champions and the Solheim Cup team announcements by Captain Patty Sheehan following Sunday's award ceremony on the 18th green.

"Audi is pleased to continue sponsoring the Wachovia LPGA Classic Hosted by Betsy King as the event offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase Audi's luxurious vehicles before the large tournament crowds in this relaxed environment," stated John Pockrus, Audi area executive. "Audi is also proud to support Betsy King and her humanitarian efforts in the Eastern Pennsylvania area." This year's event will benefit the Easter Seal Society, St. Luke's Hospital, Bethany Children's Home and Lutheran Home of Topton.

A variety of Audi models will be on display throughout the country club grounds for guests to explore at their leisure including the all-new 2004 A8 L. Knowledgeable Audi Brand Specialists will also be on-site to conduct vehicle walkarounds and answer consumer questions. Audi is also sponsoring a Hole-in-One contest throughout the LPGA tournament play. Players will have unlimited chances over the four days to make a hole-in-one on hole 15 for an A4 1.8T Cabriolet valued at $40,000.

"We are very fortunate to have a great sponsor like Audi," commented Tournament Director JoAnn Heller. "They are not only active participants during tournament week but also continue to promote the event all year round. We look forward to a long and lasting relationship."

First-round play begins Thursday, August 21, and continues through Sunday, August 24. Ticket packages may be purchased by calling (610) 683-8311. Additional ticket information and tournament information are available at www.wachovialpgaclassic.com .
