Marsha L. Hunt Joins Cummins Inc. As Vice President - Corporate Controller

    COLUMBUS, Ind.--July 7, 2003--Cummins Inc. announced today that Marsha L. Hunt has joined the Company as Vice President - Corporate Controller. Ms. Hunt brings with her an extensive technical background in corporate and public accounting.
    "We are pleased to have Marsha as a member of our financial management team," said Susan K. Carter, Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer for Cummins. "Her technical expertise, attention to detail and energy will help us ensure that the highest quality financial standards continue at Cummins."
    Ms. Hunt joins Cummins from Corning Incorporated, where she has served as Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting since 2000. Her responsibilities at Corning have included accounting policies and procedures, external reporting and accounting for judgmental matters including pensions, stock compensation, purchase accounting, impairments and income taxes. In addition, Ms. Hunt supported the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and had a primary role related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.
    Prior to joining Corning, Ms. Hunt was with the public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Bucknell University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of Financial Executives International and has been active with its Committee of Corporate Reporting.
