Model T Caravan Drives Across Wisconsin to Board S.S. Badger For Final Leg of Pilgrimage Home
A caravan of 43 classic Model T's left Lancaster, CA on May, 25 for a 3,000 mile pilgrimage to Ford Motor Company World Headquarters. The caravan will arrive just in time to help celebrate Ford's 100th Anniversary on June 16, 2003.
The Model T's will be driving across central Wisconsin to meet the S.S. Badger car ferry in Manitowoc for their final leg before landing in Michigan. The S.S. Badger is celebrating her 50th Anniversary sailing season this year. Several of the groups 100 members include Wisconsin natives. Any and all Ford owners are invited to join the caravan as they enter the homestretch. The caravan will make several stops as they make their way across Wisconsin:
Monday, June 9th 1 PM Model T caravan arrives at EAA Museum in Oshkosh for a museum tour and historic airplane rides. 4 PM Model T caravan arrives at Service Motors in Fond Du Lac for a cookout reception featuring Johnsonville Brats. Tuesday, June 10th 11 AM Model T caravan arrives at S.S. Badger ferry dock in Manitowoc. Mayor Kevin Crawford will present group with a key to the City of Manitowoc. Manitowoc Historical Society volunteers dressed in period costumes will serve pie and ice cream as the Newtonburg Brass Band provides entertainment. 1 PM S.S. Badger departs Manitowoc for Ludington, MI.
