The MathWorks to Participate in FutureTruck 2003

FutureTruck Student Teams and The MathWorks Founder, Cleve Moler, to Discuss Vehicle Design Using MATLAB and Simulink

NATICK, Mass., May 28 -- The MathWorks today announced that for the third straight year, the Company will participate in the FutureTruck 2003 competition. At this year's event, Cleve Moler, The MathWorks founder, chief scientist, and creator of MATLAB, will present The MathWorks Modeling award. In addition, Cleve will join The MathWorks at the Ford Michigan Proving Ground on June 11, 2003, along with the Company's automotive engineering experts and student teams. They will discuss how tools from The MathWorks, including MATLAB and Simulink, were employed to create advanced, energy-efficient and greener automotive technologies to improve both the economy and the environment.

In support of Future Truck, The MathWorks has established this special modeling and simulation competition to recognize the student team that has best demonstrated its abilities to develop MATLAB and Simulink models of engine, motor, transmission, controllers, and other subsystems that result in a more energy-efficient vehicle.

Interested parties are invited to meet Cleve Moler, test drive a FutureTruck, and learn more about the design process by viewing demonstrations of award-winning technologies.
