No More Ties or Tools for Father's Day;80 Percent of Men Want Home Improvement Related Gifts A Clean, Organized Garage Tops the List

WASHINGTON--May 27, 2003--Families searching for the perfect Father's Day gift, look no further!
A survey conducted by Harris Interactive shows that 80 percent of men want home improvement related gifts, and a newly reorganized garage ranked number one with almost one-third of Dads -- beating out house painting, gutter cleaning/replacement and new fencing.
In addition, half of those surveyed said the garage is the messiest room in the house, and homeowners are not satisfied with how they've used their garages in the past. For 28 percent of consumers, they'd like their garage space to be better organized. Other top garage improvements include: making it cleaner, being able to park their car in the garage, and using it as an extra room in the house for activities such as exercise or hobbies.
GarageTek(R) of Greater Washington is a new local company that specializes in custom-designed and installed garage organization systems to satisfy all of Dad's wishes in time for Father's Day. Its patented TekPanel(TM) walls are installed over existing garage walls and securely hold modular accessories that are lightweight, durable, and can be rearranged quickly without any tools. A typical GarageTek system includes high-performance cabinets, shelving, activity racks and accessories to fit the lifestyle needs of each individual customer.
"The garage is a key room in the house for most men," says Peter B. Belman, president of GarageTek of Greater Washington. "GarageTek's installed garage organization systems moves tools, sports equipment, toys and other garage necessities off the floor and onto the walls, making the garage space seem bigger and far more usable. Plus, the clean look of the GarageTek panels and accessories transforms the garage into an attractive, finished room that any Dad would be proud of."
The GarageTek installation process is simple and can be completed in time for Father's Day. The first step is a free in-home design consultation to select the configuration and components that best suit each family's individual needs. GarageTek will then create a free, no-strings-attached 3D computer rendering of your new garage design and prepare a cost estimate. Upon approval, your GarageTek system will be professionally installed, with completion typically taking 1-2 days.
