Lisoni & Lisoni Wins Major Court Victory in Firestone Steeltex Class Action

PASADENA, Calif.--April 25, 2003--Lisoni & Lisoni, the Pasadena-based law firm who filed a national class action lawsuit against Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. for alleged defects in the Firestone Steeltex tire series, won a major court victory yesterday which ensures that the class action lawsuit against Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. will move forward. Judge Christopher Sheldon of the Superior Court of Indio, California, upheld all five causes of action (Fraudulent Concealment; Negligence; Strict Liability; Violation of California Consumer Legal Remedies Act; Violation of California Unfair Business Practices Act) in the lawsuit and denied the demurrer of Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. seeking to dismiss the national class action.
Attorney Joseph Lisoni commented, "For nine months Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. has used stall tactics to avoid dealing with the numerous alleged defects in the Firestone Steeltex tire series. Judge Christopher Sheldon of the Indio, California Superior Court courageously ruled today that we will have our day in court, and we are extremely optimistic that we will prove that the Firestone Steeltex tire series is grossly defective and a danger to the American motoring public."
In addition to the national class action lawsuit, the Lisoni & Lisoni law firm also filed a petition with the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) encouraging them to re-open a safety-defect investigation into the Firestone Steeltex tire series. To support their petition to the NHTSA, Lisoni & Lisoni has shared their investigation materials including thousands of claims of defective tires, and testimony from former Firestone employees and "whistleblowers."
The Lisoni & Lisoni law firm announced today that they will forward their investigation materials to the Illinois grand jury investigation, which was recently opened to investigate potential criminal activities of Firestone management personnel. Lisoni concluded by stating that dissatisfied Firestone Steeltex owners provide their tire failure information and contact the firm on a daily basis on the firm's website at www.firestonesteeltexclassaction.com.
