Sponsorship Allows IRL's Most Popular Driver to Race March 23

MCHENRY, Ill., March 14 -- Brake Parts Inc., manufacturer of Raybestos(R) Brand Brakes, announced it will sponsor Indy Racing League (IRL) IndyCar Series driver Sarah Fisher's car for the March 23 IRL Series Purex Dial Indy 200 at the Phoenix International Speedway.

"We are thrilled to be able to help Sarah out for this one race," said Tom O'Brien, vice president of marketing. "I know that Sarah's team owners and the IRL have faced some challenges finding a primary sponsor for Sarah's car. I'm glad we could help in this instance. Sarah is an important member of the Raybestos family and we are happy that we could provide her some assistance."

In May of 2002, Raybestos signed a four-year personal services agreement with Fisher which includes appearances in national television commercials as well as consumer print ads, consumer education materials, radio advertising and other promotions. Fisher is currently appearing in Raybestos' commercials, discussing safety, quality and the importance of annual brake inspections as part of Raybestos' safety campaign.

"Raybestos and I have had a great relationship beyond the race track and I am privileged and excited that they have furthered this relationship to support my upcoming race at Phoenix," said Fisher. "Together, we have had an awesome experience so far and will continue to have one of the best sponsor/driver relationships out there. Raybestos has given me yet one more on-track opportunity!"

As part of its one-race sponsorship of Fisher's car, the Raybestos logo will appear on the engine cover and nose of Fisher's #23 Dreyer and Reinbold racing team car. The logo will also appear on Fisher's racing suit in addition to other placements on the race car.

This will be Fisher's second IRL IndyCar Series race of the year. She finished 15th in the season-opening race held March 2 in Miami. Fisher, 22, from Commercial Point, Ohio, has made 33 IndyCar Series starts since 1999, with a best finish of second in 2001 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. She became the first woman to win a pole position in major open-wheel racing in August of 2002. She has been voted the IRL most popular driver in each of the past two seasons.
