Ford Motor Company Product-Led Revitalization on Track

DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 27 -- The following statement is attributable to Jim Padilla, president of Ford North America and executive vice president of Ford Motor Company.

"Contrary to recent speculation, Ford Motor Company has not delayed any approved North American product programs and is fully on track to support its promise of delivering 65 new Ford, Lincoln and Mercury products in North America during the next five years. Further, there has been no change in total spending for product programs and no change in vehicle program timing through mid-decade.

"We have said from the beginning that we are embarking on a product-led transformation, and we mean it. This year alone, major product introductions include:

  -- The all-new Ford F-150 pickup truck;
  -- The Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans;
  -- Focus C-MAX, StreetKa and SportKa in Europe;
  -- The new Jaguar XJ sedan;
  -- Updated Volvo S80 4C/AWD, Volvo S60R, Volvo V70R, and a new small car
     from Volvo;
  -- Freshened Land Rover Freelander; and
  -- All-new Mazda C-car.

"Our new products will not stop there. In addition, our premium brands will introduce more than 35 major new models globally in the next five years, we're on track to deliver 45 new products in five years in Europe as promised, and Mazda will introduce eight new products in Japan, seven in North America and four in Europe over the next two years."
