Generation Y Consumer Panel to Tour Chicago Auto Show on Wednesday, Feb. 12

Hyundai Investigative Team (HIT) To Rate New Cars, Trucks

Who: The Hyundai Investigative Team (HIT), comprised of young Chicago- area residents

What: The members of this panel will be asked to provide honest input on the new production and concept vehicles on display

Why: Generation Y, or "Millennials," is a demographic of interest for automotive manufacturers. Economists predict that by 2010 today's 18-25 year- olds will have as much buying power as present-day Baby Boomers, making their insight invaluable to marketers. Hyundai sees this generation as vital to the growth of its brand and the company's aspirations of becoming a tier-one automaker.

During their tour of the show floor, the panelists will document their impressions of the many vehicles they view and provide Hyundai representatives with their findings at the conclusion of the event. The group's impressions will be videotaped and archived for Hyundai Motor America's marketing and product development departments.

Members of the media can monitor the tour and interact with panelists or speak to them at the conclusion of the event, in the Hyundai booth.

Where: The show floor of McCormick Place

  When: Wednesday, February 12 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

More Info: To schedule an interview, CONTACT: Curt McAllister of Hyundai Motor America-Midwest, +1-248-362-4200, ext. 236, or cell phone: +1-248-875-4204.
