Jay Pittas Named President of Eagle-Picher Wolverine Gasket

INKSTER, Mich., Nov. 11, 2002; John (Jay) Pittas has been named president of the Wolverine Gasket Division of Eagle-Picher Automotive, according to William Maclean, Eagle-Picher Automotive president, who made the announcement.

Wolverine Gasket Division is a worldwide supplier of rubber, metallic and paper coated gasketing for the automotive OEM and industrial markets. The division operates plants in Michigan, Virginia, Florida and Germany, and a research and development facility at its Inkster, Mich., headquarters. The division distributes more than 350 million products annually.

As division president, Pittas will hold complete profit and loss responsibility for the 500-employee company. He brings more than two decades' manufacturing experience to this position, holding management authority in customer support, sales and process engineering. Prior to joining Wolverine Gasket Division, he was with UOP, Inc., ARI Technologies, Inc., Fisher Controls and Honeywell, Inc.

Pittas has been trained in chemical engineering at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind., an advanced program for directors at the Harvard Business School, and engineering management at Hamilton University. He is active in several professional organizations.
