IDOT and Porsche Cars of North America Calendar Contest Will Be Delayed

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Nov. 6, 2002; -- Student winners of the "Keep Illinois Clean" calendar/poster contest will not be announced on Thursday, November 7, as originally planned, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The winners will, however, be announced at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2004.

Porsche Cars of North America, Inc. sponsored the contest as part of its Cayenne Crossing Initiative, an on-going program created to preserve historic paved and unpaved U.S. highways. (For more information, go to www.porsche.com/cayennecrossing .) IDOT sponsorship was to help promote litter-free roadways in Illinois. The poster contest announcement will be made at Porsche's press conference during the auto show.

Through a misunderstanding, the Department of Transportation reported that the new Porsche Cayenne SUV would be available for showing on November 7. The new SUV will be unveiled in the U.S. in January and will go on sale at Porsche's 203 dealers next spring. The Department regrets any inconvenience regarding this report
