R. L. Polk & Co. Introduces Polk Vehicle Lifecycle System

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 21 -- Today, R. L. Polk & Co. announced the launch of the Polk Vehicle Lifecycle System, its latest automotive information solutions product. Designed specifically to address the inventory management issues within the Aftermarket, the Polk Vehicle Lifecycle System enables parts manufacturers and retailers to apply a more comprehensive approach to their parts production, inventory and obsolescence decisions.

The Polk Vehicle Lifecycle System provides customers with the ability to trend parts and/or vehicles over a ten-year period. The Lifecycle system quickly and accurately depicts whether a part should remain in production, be stocked or be classified as obsolete. The Vehicle Lifecycle System provides customers with the strategic data they need to make informed decisions.

"The Vehicle Lifecycle System will enable us to assist the industry in moving the needle in areas such as inventory management, obsolescence and parts proliferation," said Mike Gingell, vice president of Polk's Aftermarket team. "This product will provide manufacturers and retailers with the type of information that they have been seeking relative to the build, stock and return decisions."

Al Gaspar, president and CEO of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), commented, "Polk's Vehicle Lifecycle System is a tool that has the potential to reduce the inventory inefficiencies in the Aftermarket."
