NAPA Announces Internet-Based Parts Ordering System

ATLANTA, Oct. 1 -- NAPA AUTO PARTS today introduced an Internet-based online ordering system that represents the next generation in computerized parts order management.

Called NAPA PROLink, the innovative new system brings greater economy and efficiency to wholesale customers ordering NAPA parts, accessories, tools and equipment.

NAPA wholesale customers who wish to utilize NAPA PROLink may do so with their existing Personal Computer and Internet connection once their serving NAPA store has enrolled in the NAPA Wide Area Network. For those customers needing either a PC or Internet service, NAPA makes available an aggressively priced Dell PC complete with Internet service.

NAPA PROLink contains up-to-date information about NAPA inventory and allows customers to check pricing and availability and order parts from their local serving NAPA AUTO PARTS stores.

NAPA PROLink offers users the ability to look up application parts, access online product attributes, product warranty information and MSDS sheets, and view online product images to ensure order accuracy. In addition, NAPA PROLink's robust functionality enables users to view previous orders, inquiries and history, customized quick-reference lists, and search multiple NAPA stores for parts they need.

"Improving organization and customer service at the store level continues to be a top priority for NAPA," said NAPA President Steve Handschuh. "Online ordering through NAPA PROLink represents a significant leap forward in efficiency and service for both our NAPA AUTO PARTS stores and wholesale customers, and keeps NAPA at the forefront of our growing industry."

NAPA PROLink provides commercial accounts with an economical solution for online ordering and frees NAPA counter personnel to better serve both in-store customers and wholesale accounts. NAPA PROLink also eliminates the need for multiple phone lines and additional equipment required by NAPA AUTO PARTS stores for those accounts that are currently doing business electronically.

Prospective NAPA PROLink users with an existing NAPA commercial account can log on to www.napaprolink.com to register. Upon filling out the online registration form, the user will receive a NAPA PROLink account number to provide to their serving NAPA store. Once this PROLink identification number has been entered into the NAPA PROLink directory and the NAPA store has enrolled in the NAPA Wide Area Network, the user is ready to log on to the system.

NAPA AUTO PARTS maintains the world's largest inventory of aftermarket parts, accessories, tools and equipment offered through more than 6,000 NAPA AUTO PARTS stores and 11,000 NAPA AutoCare Centers nationwide.
