Mark Hallsman Named President & CEO of MotorVac

SANTA ANA, Calif.--Sept. 23, 2002--Mark J. Hallsman was recently named president and chief executive officer of MotorVac Technologies Inc. and appointed to the board of directors.
Hallsman joined MotorVac as their senior vice president of marketing and business development in August 2001.
MotorVac is a leading manufacturer of professional fluid management and diagnostic systems for the automotive aftermarket industry.
With eight patents issued and eight more pending, the company has utilized its proprietary technology to become one of the most respected suppliers of engine maintenance equipment, including fuel system de-carbonizing machines, oil flush and exchange systems, transmission fluid and coolant exchange units, and UV leak detection devices.
Since January, MotorVac has partnered with several national distributors, including NAPA, CarQuest, Cornwell, Matco and MAC Tools, among other industrial equipment suppliers. With these new distribution channels, the company is now postured for significant growth next year.
MotorVac was founded in 1992 and quickly won acclaim for its CarbonClean fuel cleaning system and its environmentally friendly detergents that are used with the process. This system reduces pollutants and controls emissions, while the detergents are non-flammable, non-hazardous and non-carcinogenic.
MotorVac products also provide many other value-added features that can enhance an automotive repair shop's revenue and profits, while increasing customer satisfaction. MotorVac now sells its products worldwide to more than 70 countries.
Hallsman plans to soon implement an aggressive growth strategy, beginning with the development of new products and markets based on the company's core competencies and then explore potential external opportunities to further drive the company's expansion.
Prior to MotorVac, Hallsman was senior vice president at Irvine-based PIA Merchandising Co. since 1993 and continued with SPAR Group Inc., a Tarrytown, N.Y., company that acquired PIA in 1999.
Previously, he held executive positions at Con-Way Western Express, Dolco Corp. and Eaton Corp. He graduated from Cleveland State University with a bachelor of business administration degree and pursued a second degree in engineering.
MotorVac Technologies designs, develops, assembles and markets unique technological solutions for the service and repair of automotive and truck systems. MotorVac's proprietary products are distributed to service shops, fleets and government agencies throughout the world. For additional information, visit MotorVac's Web site at www.motorvac.com.
