Land Rover Steps Up Recruitment For Global Adventure

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 19 Adventurous types hoping to represent their home Nations in the Land Rover G4 Challenge can apply on-line at http://www.landroverG4challenge.com starting today. Land Rover is expecting many thousands of applications to be completed both on the Challenge website and in Land Rover retailers in the participating Nations. In addition to the application form, the website contains more detail on the Challenge itself, the vehicles involved and the time zones that will be visited during the five week Challenge, which starts on March 30, 2003 in New York City and ends on May 2, 2003 in Las Vegas, NV. Competitors from 16 Nations, representing a total of 23 countries, will visit four time zones in five weeks of competition, and by competing in a series of 4x4 driving and adventure challenges in both urban and remote locations, they will strive to become the inaugural winner of the Land Rover G4 Challenge.

Successful applicants will be invited to take part in a National Selections event in their home country later this year, where two people per Nation will be chosen to attend the final stage of the selection process, International Selections, in January 2003. Ultimately, only one Competitor will be chosen from each of the 16 competing Nations to take part in the Challenge itself.
