Itasca, Ill -- The National Safety Council (NSC) has appointed Edward Charles to be the new Executive Director of National Sales. Charles comes to the NSC with a wealth of experience in sales, national accounts management, marketing and general management.  He will be responsible for national sales as well as NSC-owned chapters, including territories of Atlanta, Orlando, San Francisco, Texas, Seattle, Southern California, Kentucky, Virginia and Chicago.   

Charles spent 16 years with Xerox Corporation in various field, headquarters and executive positions in sales, marketing and product development. He headed the Xerox Corporation's National Accounts Organization.  He made significant contributions as Vice President of Sales, Central Area with Herman Miller, a leading global provider of office furniture and services; Vice President Sales & Marketing with Lantech, Inc., a manufacturer of stretch wrapping equipment, conveyors and palletizers; and with BOBST, a Swiss headquartered packaging company as Business Unit Manager for their Post Specialty Folder Gluer Group. Most recently, Charles was with Horton Automatic, a Division of Overhead Door as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
