New Robotic Submarine Makes Underwater Exploration Fun and Affordable

BRADENTON, Fla., Aug. 27 -- Now there is an affordable way for everyone to explore up to 100 feet underwater without ever getting wet. Creative Essence Inc. is introducing the Subvoyager to the recreational marine market. The Subvoyager is a remote controlled robotic underwater vehicle, featuring a high-resolution video camera that transfers live video feed to a topside viewing and/or recording source. It gives the operator the experience of diving without the related risks. It allows everyone, regardless of age or physical ability, the opportunity to explore underwater. Using virtual reality glasses as a viewing option puts the operator "inside " the sub. For the serious users, there is a computer capture system that can record video of your entire undersea experience, with accompanied technical data, and immediately make it available on the web.

Magnetically coupled thrusters is one of Subvoyagers' most unique features. This technology is used to transfer the power to the propellers without the need for shaft seals, making the sub virtually maintenance free.
