ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants Named Caterpillar Inc.'s Worldwide Coolant Supplier

    SAN RAMON, Calif.--Aug. 26, 2002--

Contract Covers Factory Fill and Aftermarket Use For Both Extended Life and Conventional Coolants

    ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants (CTGL) today announced it has signed a three-year contract with Caterpillar Inc, to be Caterpillar's primary coolant/antifreeze provider in North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
    CTGL's coolant product line is slated for use in several types of Caterpillar equipment, including on-highway heavy-duty diesel engines, stationary engines in marine, power generation and off-highway equipment in the construction and mining industries.
    For the past seven years, Texaco Inc. has provided Caterpillar with quality products and service. With the 2001 merger of Chevron Corp. and Texaco Inc., CTGL has become a leading global lubricants company that can offer its customers more benefits, including technical expertise and logistic solutions for their business needs.
