Crimestopper Selects Satronics to Develop Next Generation GPS Vehicle Tracking Security System With Automated Notification and Control

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--Aug. 12, 2002--Crimestopper Security Products Inc., a leader in the Vehicle Security Industry for over 20 years, announced today that it has selected Satronics to develop its next generation automated wireless GPS automotive security system designed to give owners total control of their vehicles via wireless communications. Using the telephone or the Internet interfaces, this new technology, which is "Powered by Televoke" and uses Aeris.net's North American MicroBurst(R) network, automatically notifies a user when his vehicle has been tampered with or has been stolen and provides specific event messaging.
To operate the system, subscribers can use any touch-tone phone or web browser and activate such features as unlocking the doors and disarming the alarm, locking and arming, remotely starting the engine (optional), or requesting the vehicle's location.
Howard Miller, President of Crimestopper, notes, "The driver never has to worry about the status of his car because our system provides constant Central Station Law Enforcement call center monitored and automated, real-time reporting of events such as a triggered car alarm, unauthorized movement, excessive speed, or a low battery event. We are very excited to be working with Satronics in development of this cutting-edge technology for our next generation vehicle security system."

    How it Works

The hardware device that is installed into the vehicle includes a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular MicroBurst(R) radio modem, which can be installed as a stand-alone system or be integrated into an existing alarm or factory keyless entry system. All vehicle monitoring and convenience control features are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Subscribers to the system can specify what events they want monitored and how they want to be notified when those events occur. Options include:

-- Automated event-specific messaging
-- Automated e-mail messaging
-- Automated Call Center intervention and vehicle recovery
