No Sob Story - Saab Cars USA - June Sales Up 21%

NORCROSS, Ga., July 2 -- Saab Cars USA reported sales of 3,981 Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles in June. This marked a 21 percent increase over June 2001 sales of 3,286 units to log the fifth straight month of sales increases over last year.

In a year when overall automotive sales in the U.S. are down nearly 3 percent, Saab Cars USA is defying the market trend with year-to-date sales up 23 percent over 2001, from 16,751 to 20,588 vehicles.

Strong sales across the full product line contributed to the overall increase. The Saab 9-3 Convertible made the largest gains, up 34 percent to 1,183 from 884. The newly restyled 2002 Saab 9-5 SportWagon jumped 22 percent from 391 to 478 vehicles.

"Each month we are pleased to see sales increases and the continuation of the momentum that will carry us through to the launch of our new 9-3 Sport Sedan later this year," said Richard O'Kelley, VP Sales for Saab Cars USA. "Our increased investment in marketing along with the dealers' investments in new facilities is proving to be a winning combination for Saab."

Saab Cars USA, Inc. is the importer of Saab 9-5 and 9-3 automobiles for Saab Automobile AB and is headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, near Atlanta. For more information, see www.saabusa.com .
