Nissan Division Reports June Sales - Altima Demand Remains Strong in June
GARDENA, Calif., July 2 -- Led by solid sales of the 2002 Altima, Nissan Division reported today sales of 54,361 for the month of June. June totals declined 2.4 percent compared with year ago levels.
The award-winning Altima continued its sales momentum with June sales totaling 17,773 units, a 39.4 percent increase versus June 2001. Year-to-date Altima sales rose to 102,459 units, up 35.9 percent compared to last year.
Total truck sales for June totaled 19,717 units, a 18.3 percent decline over June 2001. Year-to-date Xterra sales rose to 40,153 units, up 2 percent compared to last year.
Combined June sales for Nissan and Infiniti divisions totaled 61,332 units, a 0.1 percent decrease versus June of last year.
Sales of Nissan's North American produced vehicles for June totaled 42,251 units, which represents 73 percent of all Nissan vehicles sold in the United States.
In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
