Volkswagen Reports May Sales Down 6.7%

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 3 -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today reported May sales of 32,109, representing a 6.7 percent decline versus last year's record-setting mark of 34,398.

Total year-to-date sales figures stand at 137,360 versus 2001's total of 138,651.

Volkswagen remains the nation's top-selling European brand.
