5 new Subaru models to be launched

TOKYO — Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd, the maker of Subarau cars, said Friday it will launch five new models by fiscal 2006 in joint development efforts with U.S. automaker General Motors Corp.

Under a mid-term restructuring plan announced the same day, the company said that by introducing the new models, it hopes to increase global vehicle sales from around 560,000 units in fiscal 2001 to more than 760,000 units by fiscal 2006. (Kyodo News)
